The Mindful project days # 253-262

The Mindful project day # 253

Visits from friends we hadn't seen in more than a year!!

We try to keep in touch we some of the people we met in all the places that we've lived by, every now and then, sending a kind of a newsletter with what's going on with us and also asking how they are doing. I am not very good at making friends and keeping in touch (I will write but I hate phone calls..) but you realize that not everybody will reply and after a while you kind off weed out those that don't even bother to say hello. Today a couple that we met in Sweden came to visit us. From all the people we met and were kind of friends, they were not the one's I though would keep in touch but people do surprise you all the time.

It was a very nice visit and I enjoyed very much our conversations.

Rediscovering!

Today we took our friends to Wageningen to visit the arboretum. I have been there before this year but not in the Spring. It look beautiful with all the Rhododendron blooming (pic bellow).

The garden is quite big and you can walk from the city centrum there (good exercise!!) because Wageningen is not so big. It was a very pleasant day because of the company and the cooperation of the weather!!

If you ever visit Wageningen, don't forget to visit the Belmont arboretum, its beautiful in the fall and winter but in the Spring is gorgeous!!

The Mindful project day # 255

Finishing up little projects around the house!

I have a list of things I want done before the baby is born like hang some frames, rearrange the terrarium, etc. Nesting at its best!!

This past week was change the pot of our big plant (pic)!!

Oh the joy of going through the list!!

I guess for her this is the garden!!!

The Mindful project day # 256

30 weeks!!!!!!!!!!

Have the feeling the belly is about to burst at anytime as it feels really tight but its growing and the baby is moving more now, YEAHHHH!!

The Mindful project day # 257

Hypnobirthing course!

We had the chance to sign up for this pre-natal course. In theory its seems great, you can read the list of benefits bellow. I was and still am a tiny bit sceptical however in the end of our first session we

saw this video (pic/link bellow) and it blew my mind at how peaceful it all went! Its a real-time video of Daisy's birth. Seriously watch it!

I will write more about it has the course goes but I'll leave all the "mum's-to-be" an advice  the teacher gave me: "Stop seeing all those TV-shows like "one born every minute" that portrait birth as a drama story full of screams"

The Mindful project day # 258 and 259

Babymoon!!

Its a very American concept, I think, but I totally get it. Very soon our life's will change drastically with the arrival of our bundle of joy and, specially in the beginning, we will be very busy so now is the time to take some couple vacation.

I offered my hubby a night stay at an hotel nearby. It was a special promotion which included a free 3-dinner course and breakfast, free use of fitness room and SAUNA (which my husband loves and misses from our time in Sweden) and free access to hiking/bike routes. The weather was not good but that didn't bothered us at all!! First thing we did was going to the sauna, so relaxing!! As I am pregnant I could only stay in for 5-10 min but it was a private sauna so I could go in and out as many time I wished!

The dinner and breakfast was amazing and we were both so relaxed on the way home totally worth it!

It doesn't take much to have a babymoon. Just look for a good hotel offer, even if its one night like we had. Also we went by bus and I used another promotion so I had a free day ticket on both days.

The Mindful project day # 260 - 261

Happy to be preparing for the interview!

At the same time feeling very nervous and insecure. How much longer will it take to find a job?? I am craving very much for my independence...

KEEP CALM

The Mindful project days # 246-252

Hi there,

Yes, again, I am posting less than I wanted!! but right now I have a deadline for a potential work position and I really need to focus on it. Nevertheless, here are my latest mindful project days.

The Mindful project day #246

Getting good job related news!

I haven't gotten a position yet however, I will have an interview!! my first interview in the Netherlands!!!!!

I am aware that the chance of getting the job is very low but I have to try it! I am very grateful that I was selected for the interview!

The Mindful project day #247

Becoming a mum!

Definitely scary but also exciting!

Today I went for a coffee with one of my pregnant-fellows from our pregnancy group and I had a really nice time. I still get overwhelmed with the loads of info, opinions and products around but lately I feel like talking about my baby all the time...dangerous right?!! I might become one of those mums that can't talk about anything else and show pictures of the baby all the time...

Oh well, may my friends and family be granted with patience to put up with me... I promise to hold back a bit....

In the meantime, baby's clothes, bed linen and toys all wash and ready to use!

Now I have to prepare my hospital bag!!

The Mindful project day #248

Grateful for the good time and good food we had at our friends barbecue!

Today it's the 4th of May, " Remembrance of the Dead " dedicated to honouring those who fought and died during World War II. There are remembrance gatherings all over the country and two minutes of silence are observed at 8 p.m.

My husband's old student apartment mates commemorate this day with a barbecue after the 2 min. silence however, he doesn't know anybody living there now. Our friends M&A decided to start a new tradition with a barbecue at their house and I am very grateful for their invitation.

The Mindful project day #249

Enjoying the Liberation day with my hubby!

In the Netherlands, they celebrate Liberation Day on May the 5th to mark the end of the occupation by Nazi Germany during World War II. Dutch take this celebration very serious, understandably, its about gaining or restoring your right to Freedom which unfortunately, not everybody has achieved.

The liberation is celebrated with festivals, parades of veterans and musical concerts through the whole country. We had one of such in our city and it was lovely. Great weather, great music and atmosphere!

The Mindful project day #250

I am grateful that despite the holding back we can still enjoy going to the movies!

I know that for some of you it might sound futile but we each have our own things. Me and my hubby love movies and TV-series. In Sweden, we used to go to the movies often (there wasn't much else to do...) and we would also buy DVDs from Amazon more often (cheaper!!). Since we've been unemployed, first both of us and now one (alternating...), things have of course changed. To be honest I don't miss since our priorities and way of thinking also changed. Despite all, being unemployed helped us focus on what's important and to make better choices regarding spending money.

Anyway,  blah, blah, blah... just to say we went to the movies today and saw Captain American civil war! Loved it, it gave a different perspective on the Avengers plus the end was quite different than most of the Captain America/Avengers/Iron man movies. Highly recommend the movie, the 3D however...there was no 2D option but I thing we didn't gain a lot from the 3D, my opinion.

The Mindful project day #251

Giro Italia!

We saw them!!!

The Mindful project day #252

That hate and love relationship our cat has with the vacuum cleaner!!

It can't be too close to her but she needs to have eyes on it all time!

Lets play a game, Find Flor!

And of course her curiosity!

I think her motto is "May no box that enters this house go unseen/smelled/researched"!!!

Just helping Dad with his Skykes!

Have a lovely Sunday!

Here the weather is amazing so we might go out a enjoy the sun a bit!

The Mindful project days # 244-245

OK, with one day of delay...

The Mindful project day #244

Enjoying the sun!

Today the weather was great in our city, lots of sunshine, plus there was a market downtown so we decided to take a walk. It was a great way of doing some exercise and get energized.

In addition, I worked in a little sewing project (more on that later) that I have been postponing but now I am really determined to finish before baby comes. I guess that is part of the "nesting" feelings pregnant woman have. And you, what projects are you working on?

The Mindful project day #245

Getting up early!

First of all let me start by saying that I was never a morning person. However, here in the Netherlands I find myself waking up quite early (according to my standards), 7h30 -8h30. It helps that my husband wakes up very early for work, as opposed to me he is definitely a morning person.

Don't get me wrong, I still wake up like this:

Still I recover way faster than before. It feels surprisingly good as I notice that I am more productive and that makes me feel better about myself.

Have a great start of the week!

See you tomorrow!
