Hope everybody is having a great weekend! Spring has definitely arrived around here and the sun is finally out!
The Mindful project day #202
I am grateful that once and a while we can enjoy dinning out! Pizza time!!
Today we had dinner with the other members of our pregnancy group. It was quite nice to get to know them better however, as you can expect, there was a lot of baby talk! I think its good to talk about your pregnancy and your fears/insecurities with others, specially if they are going through the same thing but it can also be overwhelming, at least to me, as there is lot of different opinions about every aspect that you can think about related to pregnancy and the reality is that there is not only one right approach.
I have been quite relaxed, for my standards, regarding this pregnancy but lately when I am around people that have very strong opinions about it I get overwhelmed . I am aware that you can't plan and think about everything but women have been doing this for millions of years and giving birth and breastfeeding is a natural process so I have to trust that I got this. What do you think about it?
Today we picked up our free baby boxes at Baby-Dump and PreNatal. This is what I received from PreNatal:
Same samples and discounts
More discounts, the PAMPER'S ones are going to be well used!!
and this is what we got in the Baby-Dump box:

Detail of the border
For the border I used the same colours that appear in the middle stripes of the blanket, white, blue and mint. Somehow mint become my colour of choice for this baby!

I am grateful that I have the time to find great deals!
So we have been preparing things for our baby's arrival. If you are expecting or have already kids, you know that there is a lot of products/offers out there and you really need to research/talk to experience people/think before you get reeled into the madness of marketing.
We are trying to buy only the things we think are necessary however, I am sure that after the baby is out their will be lots of stuff that will seem useless.
One thing that is necessary is a baby-bath. As we don't have a bathtub, we wanted one with a stand for the first months. I think is easier to use in the beginning during recovering and in the long run, better for our backs. These items are not very cheap, new the stand + bath are at least 38 euros. I had found one online second-hand for 20 eur but it was not close by and we had to pay for transportation.
This Wednesday, on my regular visit to my favourite charity/2-hand shop, I found this beauty for ...drumroll... 5 euros!!!!
Its in very good condition, the stand is very sturdy and stable (IMPORTANT) and the bath fits perfectly. I gave it a good scrub (actually it was not that dirty) and then rinsed it with boiling water 4 times and it looks great!

Enjoying some time for myself! Hubby was out for work dinner.
The Mindful project day #208
This is a bit silly but its true, I am grateful that until now, I haven't put much weight due to the pregnancy.
Its natural and more importantly, healthy and necessary to gain a bit of weight during pregnancy. A new human being is growing inside of you, you need to develop a placenta, produce enough amniotic liquid and none of these should came at the expense of your own body. I have never had overweight problems but my mum had and she always said that it was during the time she was pregnant with me that she become overweighed. She also had me with 37 years, so I thought that my age + my genetics= overweigh during pregnancy! To my surprise that has not been the case, my weight is increasing at a constant pace (~ 2kg/month) but I notice it mainly in the belly. All my old shirts and dresses (except the ones that were tight before) still fit me and the only pieces I found necessary to buy were 2 pair of pregnancy leggings. I am really happy for that because I think its a sign of a healthy pregnancy but I also think that in a way I am lucky. Of course I try to eat as healthy as possible, lots of veggies and specially fruit, walk/bike a bit everyday and be active at home but I don't think I am holding back much. In my opinion, the biggest thing is that I am not more hungry than usual (or hungry for two).
